I know jack-squat about computers. I bought this machine like 8 years ago to have something beefy enough to run AutoCAD. Back then my brother-in-law worked at CDW, so I could get a deal. It’s kind of a mongrel . The tower is a commercial grade HP, it has an i7 processor (but that's all I can remember about it). I think it has 10 gigs of RAM, and its hard drive is too small to actually install CAD, so it never lived up to its potential and I've hardly used it.

If it has a reasonably robust power supply, and if you’re interested in spending maybe $150, you could buy a used graphics card that would earn you 500k points per day folding.

Oh I’ve built my fare share of gaming rigs over the years. I stopped gaming so much about 4 years ago, so I stopped upgrading my stuff. I’d love to fold at higher rates, but honestly, I just have better places to put the money at the moment.

I spent about $550 on a big Dell Precision workstation and a 1080 Ti card only  for folding. I don’t game at all. And what’s beauty about it is that my wife encouraged me.
